One of America’s all-time favorite attractions, Disneyland Anaheim, has now reopened in a limited capacity. While visiting the House of Mouse still isn’t as simple as purchasing a ticket and booking a car service from LAX to Anaheim, the situation has vastly improved compared to what it was like in 2020.

Now we’ll help you make the most of your visit to Anaheim by giving you a quick rundown of what to expect if you visit Disneyland during the coronavirus epidemic. Read on. 

Is Disneyland in Anaheim open?

As of this writing, the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim is undergoing a phased reopening. Since things are changing all the time, it’s highly advised that you check the official website often to make sure you have the most up-to-date information before planning your trip. 

Needless to say, as in most other public areas, there are certain restrictions on where visitors can go and which measures they have to take to protect their own and others’ safety. 

Important things to keep in mind include:

• Select dining and retail locations at the Downtown Disney District are now open. This includes Buena Vista Street. 
• The Hotels of the Disneyland Resort are currently closed and will remain so for the time being.
• Likewise, the Disneyland Park and the Disney California Adventure Park are currently closed and will remain so until the relevant state and local government approvals are issued. 
• Even after parks, restaurants, hotels, attractions, etc., are reopened, they will still have limited capacity and availability to reduce the risk of infection.
• All visitors who are 2 years old or older are required to wear face masks that cover both the nose and mouth. 
• Theme park capacities have been reduced to promote physical distancing (eg., maintaining a 6 feet distance or more from strangers).
• All visitors need to undergo temperature screenings before entering the Downtown Disney District or one of the theme parks.
• In order to reduce the risk of COVID-19, cashless transactions and mobile ordering through the Disneyland App is the preferred method of payment. 
• Due to limited capacities, attendance will be managed through a new theme park reservation system. 

How many days do you need for Disneyland Anaheim?

Although there are only two parks at Disneyland Resort, they contain a large number of great attractions and activities. In order to realistically experience the majority of the shows, rides, characters, and fireworks the place has to offer, you should plan on spending at least 3-4 days in the parks. 

That being said, with the attractions not operating at full capacity due to the COVID-19 situation, you may be able to see everything that’s available in a shorter amount of time than usual. Your best bet is to check which rides are currently available and what the average wait times are, and plan accordingly.
